About
Finca El Zapote has been run by the Perez family for 70 years, and consists of 62 ha at 1650-1700 masl in the mountains of Huehuetenango. In peak harvest they hire up to 200 people from the local area, where the constantly erupting ‘Fuego’ volcano in the keeps the soil nourished, and perfect for growing coffee. Fourth generation Julio aims to build lasting relationships with consumers and has a passion for improving quality. His son also brings expert barista knowledge and brewing training to the table, and helps to ensure proper quality control. This coffee has notes of sweet chocolate, brown sugar and honey, with a cherry finish.
